Individuals who are advertised as official members of the band in one way or another.

  • Shinji Sato [佐藤伸治] (1987-1999): Lead member. Primary composer of songs. Performed vocals, guitar, and occasional cornet, although started as the drummer for the band. Passed away on March 15, 1999.
  • Kin-Ichi Motegi [茂木欣一] (1987-present): Primary member. Acts as the "head" of the band. Performs drums primarily, but seldom also performs vocals.
  • Yuzuru Kashiwabara [柏原譲] (1988-1998, 1999-present): Primary member. Performs bass guitar exclusively. Departed from the band for a short time in 1999 before Sato's passing.
  • Kensuke Ojima [小嶋謙介] (1987-1994, 1999-present): Performs electric guitar, but seldom also performs vocals. Wrote several songs, such as あの娘が眠ってる. Departed from the band in 1994, rejoined in 1999 after Sato's passing.
  • Hakase-Sun [ハカセ] (1990-1995, 1999-present): Performs keyboard exclusively. Wrote several songs, such as なんてったの. Departed from the band in 1995, rejoined in 1999 after Sato's passing.
  • Hisamatsu [久松] (1987-1988): Performed bass guitar exclusively.

Michio "Darts" Sekiguchi

Individuals who play a key role in the band's existence, but aren't particularly official members of the lineup.

  • ZAK (1991-1997, 1999-present): Executive producer of the band. Began working with the group as early as 1991, but only began producing their studio works in 1993 with the release of Walkin'. Officially left the group in 1997, but works with various projects to this day.
  • Honzi (1995-2007): Performed keyboards, violin, and other various instruments. She worked with the band until her passing on September 27, 2007.
  • Shinya Kogure [木暮晋也] (1995-present): Performs electric guitar exclusively, primarily in studio.
  • Michio "Darts" Sekiguchi [ダーツ関口] (1996-present): Performs electric guitar exclusively, primarily in live performances.

Moog Yamamoto

Individuals who participate (or have participated) in the band actively, but not as much as the primary support.

  • Sugar Yoshinaga [シュガー吉永] (1994-1995): Performed electric guitar. Assisted in recording sessions for Orange.
  • Toshiya Sano [佐野敏也] (1995-1997): A&R director for Fishmans assigned by Polydor Records. Responsible for presence of most support musicians on Polydor-era music by the band.
  • Moog Yamamoto [山本ムーグ] (1994-present): Creator of every Fishmans album cover since Orange. Sometimes appears as a turntablist. One half of the art duo Phonic.
  • Mariko Yamamoto [山本 万里子] (1994-present): Creator of every Fishmans album cover since Orange. One half of the art duo Phonic.
  • Ikuko Harada [原田郁子] (2005-present): Regular stand-in for vocals during Fishmans live performances after Sato's death. Primarily, she is the vocalist for Clammbon.
  • Minoru Yokoo [横尾 實] (1994-present): Assistant producer to ZAK. Also works as A&R assistant. Contributed vocals on Oh! Mountain and Season, specifically on the song I Dub Fish.
  • MariMari (1996-present): Guest vocalist on Long Season. Fishmans members regularly contribute to her individual musical endeavors, including Sato himself, who produced MariMari's first album. Founded band MariMari Rhythmkiller Machinegun alongside Kin-Ichi Motegi and Shinya Kogure.
  • Kazufumi Kodama [こだま和文] (1990-1991): Producer for Fishmans' first album Chappie, Don't Cry. Performs with the band during modern performances, such as on The Long Season Revue.
  • Haruo Kubota [窪田晴男] (1992): Producer for Fishmans' second album King Master George. More often performs guitar, but never did with the band.
