Hanaregumi (born 永積 崇 or Takashi Nagazumi; November 27, 1974) is a Japanese guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, having published a multitude of solo works and participated in numerous bands since his major debut in 1997. He is known for his folk music, often inspired by indie rock and reggae/dub. Since performing alongside Super Butter Dog, Hanaregumi also participates in ohana, Fishmans+ and various Fishmans revival events, such as appearing in The Fishmans Movie for interviews.
Hanaregumi began playing the guitar in high school, starting on an acoustic guitar as a second-year high schooler. His musical debut was in 1997 while performing with rock group Super Butter Dog, during which he assisted in the release of six studio albums and more singles. While the band would later disband in 2008, Hanaregumi had a head start on his solo career, releasing his first album 音タイム in 2002. During this time, he would travel alone to various smaller live houses, touring by himself with guitar in tow. His second album was released in 2004, 日々のあわ, which precipitated a major breakout for Hanaregumi. All performances in a following national tour for the album were sold out, including one performed at NHK Hall.
2005 was a major year for Hanaregumi's solo career, which saw the release of his third solo album, his first compilation album and his participation in the soundtrack to Naoto Takenaka's film "サヨナラColor". On September 24, 2005, Hanaregumi hosted a solo live performance titled "hana-uta fes." at Koganei Park in Tokyo. The performance was briefly threatened by heavy rain caused by a typhoon, but 20,000 attendees still gathered to listen to Hanaregumi perform. This concert remains proof of Hanaregumi's growing fanbase and their dedication to his material.
Since 2005, Hanaregumi has hosted a continuous and successful solo career, continuing to perform music into the modern day. He has released 10 solo albums as of 2022, and participated in a number of acts outside of his own musical ventures. One such act, Fishmans, is a band he's become somewhat involved with in the 21st century. Hanaregumi appeared for the band's The Long Season Revue tour and appears on the accompanying home DVD release, as well as appearing as guest performer on Live 2011/5.3 At Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall "A Piece Of Future". He also provides retrospectives on Shinji Sato's life and career in the 2021 film The Fishmans Movie, speaking of his intense appreciation for Sato and his music. He also participated in Fishmans revival collective Fishmans+ as a member, as well as break-off trio ohana.
