Melody is Fishmans' second maxi-single and seventh single, released in 1994. The release of this maxi-single marked the last musical output the group would make before band member Kensuke Ojima's departure from the group. Melody was also the first Fishmans work to be printed on vinyl.

On Fishmans' website, Wedding Baby is described as being performed by Shinji Sato while he was apparently drunk, particularly at Hakase-Sun's wedding. Regarding the track's noticeably low quality, it elaborates:
