Season was Fishmans' ninth single release, printed in later 1996. The songs on the single never landed on any Fishmans album (apart from compilation albums like Aloha Polydor), although it was meant to promote their upcoming sixth album Long Season. The song Season is a shorter, six-minute version of their sixth album, essentially serving as a teaser. Long Season would be heavily based on the musical themes of Season, instead taking the form of a five-part opus dedicated to the song. Season never landed on an album, but possesses the musical stylings of their previous album 空中キャンプ.

Trivia[]

  • The song Season contains a whole verse of lyrics not present on its album-length equivalent Long Season, ironic considering the latter is about six times as long as the former.
  • Single was re-released as Seasons (Life) in 2006 to promote The Long Season Revue with an extended tracklist.
