Toshiya Sano (born 佐野敏也) is the assistant general manager of the Artists & Repertoire department of Space Shower Networks. Sano also has history in performing A&R duties for Polydor Records Ltd. from 1989 to 1998, during which he served as Japanese band Fishmans' director. Sano is responsible for recruiting many of the band's support musicians after their Polydor transfer.
Sano began working with Polydor Records in April of 1989 as an Artists & Repertoire director for musicians and bands. He worked with Fishmans throughout their Polydor years, supplying them with private studio Waikiki Beach in 1995 by request of producer ZAK. He transitioned in October of 1998 to join Universal Music Group as a General Manager of A&R, then left in December of 2009 to join Space Shower Networks in November 2013 as the Assistant General Manager of A&R Department. Aside from this, he also presently still conducts A&R duties at the company.
Aside from Fishmans, Sano is also known to have recruited guest musicians for multiple MariMari Rhythmkiller Machinegun projects, as well as a multitude of other works by various musicians.
